OBITUARIES
In memoriam
MEMORIAL INVITATION
Peter Johnston and Patricia Johnston
You are invited to join the Johnston Family in celebrating the lives of Peter William Johnston and Patricia Sandra Johnston.
The memorial is on Saturday 26 September 2026 at 2pm at The Banff Springs Hotel, Banff AB45 2JE.
Peter was CEO of ICAS from November 1989, a post he held with distinction for approximately 10 years. You can read his full obituary originally published here.
Peter’s wife Pat died on 4 October 2025, and it was their request that neither of them had a funeral. Their wish was that they both be cremated, with Peter’s ashes being retained until Pat’s death, when their ashes would be combined. They further requested that their combined ashes be scattered off the coast in front of their home in Scotstoun, Banff privately at a time that suited their immediate family.
The sea held a special place in both of their hearts and links the United Kingdom (where their daughter Wendy and her family live) and Australia (where their son Alasdair and his family live). Scattering their combined ashes in the sea off Scotstoun enables them to retain their family links, and with the many friends they have made around the globe during their extensive travels.
You are welcome to come and share memories of them both. Refreshments will be served.
