A site for your eyes

Please welcome the new iacs.com. Our brand-new site offers the same high-quality resources, but with a greater emphasis on UX and searchability. Sarah Piers, Executive Director of Member Engagement and Communications, raises the curtain while CA magazine guides you though the process

“We’re delighted to announce the launch of our new website. It has been built with the end-user in mind, with easy navigation and an enhanced search and filtering system. We worked with, and used direct feedback from, our members to help scope and shape the new site. At its core, it has been designed to be more responsive and user-friendly. So, whether you are sourcing technical resources, news and insights, events, regulatory updates or practice support, it will now be easier and simpler to access the content you need. We hope you enjoy using the new site.”

Sarah Speirs, Executive Director of Member Engagement and Communications

We start the new year with some very welcome news – a brand-new website, with the same familiar address. The old icas.com was launched a decade ago, and – as CAs know better than most – much has changed in the digital world since then. It was, as they say, time for a change.

As part of our regular consultations with members, you told us you wanted an ICAS website that was more user-friendly, with information that’s easier to find, whether via navigation or the search button.

You spoke and we listened. And the results are now there for you all to see. The new icas.com is much easier to navigate, with greatly improved search facilities. You can filter resources, articles, events and documents for date or topic, making finding the pages you’re looking for much more straightforward.

Your feedback emphasised how much you value the technical resources, so we have made these sections more prominent – and again, easier to find through search and filter options.

The new icas.com is the culmination of a process that began in September 2023, when we invited all members to take part in a survey of “top tasks” – selecting from a long list of options their main reasons for visiting our website. After further member consultation the following month, this was then whittled down to a shorter list.

Amassing detailed knowledge of the needs and expectations of our members provided us with a great foundation on which to build our brand-new site. Then, through spring and summer last year, we gave sneak peeks of the site to the Members Board and EDI committee, who provided fresh insights that helped us refine the design.

Last month, following an invitation to all members, many of you took part in an hour-long user-testing session, allowing us to see the new icas.com in action through fresh pairs of eyes.

The site is now live and available for all to use. But that doesn’t mean it’s set in stone. We will continue to improve the website in line with member feedback. So please do share your thoughts, whether good or bad.
