THE RUNNERS-UP
Below we meet the runners-up – those who made the top 35 of this year’s CA Rising Stars list of innovators, changemakers and ethical leaders. On the next page we reveal the outstanding entrants for each of the categories, as well as the overall winner

Karen Scholes CA, ICAS President
Welcome to the CA Rising Stars of 2025. This is the first time since 2020 that we’ve honoured our best and brightest young CAs.
At ICAS we often say that the CA qualification is a “passport for business” and the springboard for a successful career. If you need any further proof of that, simply read on.
As you will discover, these brilliant young CAs, each aged 35 or under, are making a genuine difference to their firms or businesses, or even the whole sector they work in.
The judging panel – Sarah Speirs, Director of Engagement & Advocacy; Dougie Hawkins CA, ICAS Members Board; Hamisha Mehta CA, winner in 2019; Indy Singh Hothi CA, Past President and 2015 winner; and myself – had some very tough calls to make in deciding who would make the final cut. My thanks go to all of them for coming up with our top 35 from scores of excellent and impressive entries.
The entrants were ultimately divided into three categories.
● Changemakers: those who are positively influencing and inspiring others within their organisation to embrace meaningful change.
● Innovators: those who have embraced technology or developed new solutions to age-old problems.
● Ethical Leaders: those who have excelled in the areas of ethics and trust and who embody the highest standards of the profession.
Below you can find out who has made the cut, becoming one of this year’s 35 Rising Stars. On the next page, we highlight the winners from each of our three categories, as well as the overall winner who will be named CA Rising Star of 2025 and represent ICAS at the One Young World Summit in Munich this November.
We hope you enjoy reading about their achievements – and that it inspires anyone who knows a young CA performing similarly eye-catching feats to put their name forward in 2026.
