Do you have a young colleague destined for the top? Or are you yourself in the foothills of your career and keen to talk about your professional achievements to date? Our new hunt to find 35 Rising Stars for 2025 is open to all CAs aged 35 and under

ICAS and CA magazine are delighted to announce the launch of CA Rising Stars, a new annual event – building on the success of its predecessor, One Young CA – to shine a light on the achievements of our most promising up-and-coming CAs.
This celebration of new talent will culminate in the shortlist of our Top 35 Rising Stars this August. The CAs selected will all feature in the September issue of CA magazine and on ICAS social media feeds. You can read our 2021 feature on previous winners, including Jonny Jacobs CA, Rimla Akhtar CA and more here.
That final 35 will reflect the diverse nature of our profession. They could be working in practice or at one of the Big Four; they might be in industry or running their own business; in the public sector or involved in a charity or not-for-profit. And they could be based almost anywhere in the world.
At the same time we will announce the winner of the CA Rising Star for 2025, who will represent ICAS and Chartered Accountants Worldwide at the One Young World Summit in Munich this November. One Young World brings together, showcases and celebrates impactful young leaders from across the planet.
The past 12 months have marked an extraordinary period of change for the profession, with the growing adoption of AI and preparation for the introduction of sustainability reporting standards. Meanwhile, businesses of all sizes are trying to navigate, and even grow, against the backdrop of an uncertain economy.
Our final 35 will highlight those CAs who have not only stepped up to the challenges confronting the profession and the wider business world, but set an example for future CAs to follow.

Pick one of three categories in which to enter

1 Ethical leaders
This category celebrates those who have gone on to excel in areas of ethics and trust. All ICAS members take an oath of ethics at the point when they finish their training and become a CA, and we are looking for those playing a role in maintaining public trust in business or the profession.
We are looking for the following:
• A level of integrity that embodies the high standards of ICAS
• Involvement in or leadership of a purpose-led business that positively impacts society, such as a B Corp.
• Evidence of actively representing the profession and CA brand in a way that contributes to maintaining public trust.
2 Innovators
We are looking for young CAs at the cutting edge of innovation, whether that’s through the use of the new technologies transforming our profession and the business environment, or simply innovating in their chosen field by finding new solutions for tackling age old problems.
We are looking for CAs who are:
• Embracing new and developing ways of working, whether in a start-up or in business or practice.
• Involved in developing their organisation or operating models through the application of new tech.
• Innovating in the development of risk management solutions relating to big data, robotics and AI.
3 Changemakers
This is for CAs who have helped to bring about a positive change in the areas of sustainability or equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).
The UK is expected shortly to announce its standards for sustainability reporting, but many companies are either already filing reports or have prepared for that formal announcement. We are looking for CAs who have taken a lead in this area.
We are also looking for CAs with:
• Leadership qualities that are positively influencing and inspiring others within their organisation to embrace change.
• Involvement in upskilling activities outside of their day-to-day role.
• Evidence of championing a key issue in the talent sphere such as EDI, skills development, non-traditional working and mentoring.
Other
While changemakers, innovators and ethical leaders are the main identified categories, we understand that some potential nominees may feel they don’t sit within any. As such, we are including an “other” option to accommodate nominations for CAs whose outstanding contributions could be seen to sit in a category of their own.
We ask you to use your judgement to determine which category best fits the CA you wish to nominate.
Who can enter
Anyone who is an ICAS member aged 35 or under.
