Meet the President
We have two great opportunities to meet the new ICAS President in the months ahead. Both evenings will offer the chance to hear about his or her plans for the year to come and ask a few questions, as well as to network with your peers while enjoying complimentary drinks and canapes.
The first event is in May in Edinburgh at the W Deck rooftop bar, with its unrivalled 360-degree city views, looking out over Calton Hill, Edinburgh Castle and the historic spires of the Old Town.
This will be followed in June by another special event at the Oxo Tower on London’s South Bank (pictured). Not only will attendees have the chance to hear the new President speak about ICAS’ immediate future, but they will also see the awards given to the next generation, as our CA Rising Stars 2026 competition reaches its climax. You will find out who has been selected as the outstanding nominee for each of the four categories as well as the overall winner.
Whether you’re looking to expand your network or simply enjoy a great evening with the ICAS community, these are events you won’t want to miss.

The CA Women’s Network
The new CA Women’s Network is an international community that connects, inspires and supports female CAs and students.
It’s an open, safe and supportive space where you can share perspectives and exchange career insights. It’s a place to belong, where you can meet other women in the profession, find – or become – a mentor, collaborate, celebrate or just get together and socialise.
The platform will help amplify CA women’s voices, raise common issues and address the unique challenges faced by women in the profession. The network is open to women across ICAS’ global membership, from all sectors and all career stages, from those just starting on their CA journey to those at the top of their game.
And because it’s entirely member-led, the network is whatever you make it.
The CA Women’s Network is steered by an advisory group of 15 volunteer CAs, from a variety of personal and professional backgrounds to represent the diversity of the ICAS membership.
Register to join the CA Women’s Network and we’ll be in touch with more information

Guide, grow and give back with ICAS Council
Did you know that by joining ICAS Council you can grow your career and give back to the profession at the same time? ICAS members have until 17.00 GMT on Monday 9 March to nominate themselves for one of the five vacant seats.
The volunteer members of ICAS Council range from early-career CAs to established business leaders. They help set and oversee our strategy. Their insights and experience are central to the delivery of key ICAS objectives, from ethical leadership to exceptional CA training and continued value for your membership.
Council helps set ICAS strategy and oversees our management to make sure we’re providing value for membership and meeting our objectives.
Volunteering with ICAS Council can deliver a wide range of personal and professional benefits. These can include growing your network and developing new skills in areas such as leadership and strategic delivery. There’s the pride and satisfaction that comes from giving back to the profession and supporting the next generation. It’s also a great way of staying connected to what’s happening in the profession and the wider marketplace.
“Council enabled me to be actively involved in helping to set ICAS strategy, monitor progress at close quarters and assess the tangible results,” said Michael Kay CA, current Council member and non-executive director. “Gaining the CA qualification takes focus and dedication, but it doesn’t end there – being on Council has reinforced the ongoing value of being part of the global CA family.”
This year there are five vacancies open for nominations:
• Electoral Area seat vacancies (x 4)
• Open seat vacancies (x 1)
Mi-Voice, an independent election scrutineer, is running the nominations process and will supervise any subsequent elections and the 2026 AGM resolution voting on behalf of ICAS.

Carbon date
Join ICAS to gain the clarity you need to prepare your business for Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanisms (CBAM) – a new concept that applies a carbon price to certain high-carbon materials.
This webinar, in partnership with Chartered Accountants Ireland, will unpack how the EU CBAM currently operates and what its implementation is revealing in practice. You’ll hear directly from a CBAM regulator, alongside advisers sharing the key issues arising for their clients. We’ll also discuss what UK importers should be considering now, ahead of the introduction of the UK CBAM in 2027.
You’ll leave with a clearer view of the requirements, the factors that may affect your business and how CBAM is playing out in the EU.
Panellists for the webinar are Fiona Donnelly CA, ICAS Director of Sustainability; Bryn Reynolds CA, Partner and Tax Adviser at Pinsent Masons; Ed Byrne, Managing Director, Galco Steel; and Gina Kelly, Senior Manager, Climate Programme at the Environmental Protection Agency Ireland.
You’ll also have the opportunity to put your questions directly to the speakers during a live Q&A.
Date: Thursday 12 March 2026
